Energy Agreement signed between Iceland and Britain

Charles Hendry, British minister for energy and climate change, and the Icelandic minister of industry, Oddný G. Harðardóttir, signed an agreement on increased coorporation in the field of energy last week.  The two states intend to strengthen their collaboration regarding energy by focussing especially on the utilization of renewable energy resources. As part of their cooperation Iceland and Britain want to examine the viability of establishing an interconnector between the two countries to provide the UK with geothermal energy from Iceland.
